Dr. Kalyani Karkare finished her DM Neurology with Gold Medal from Institute of National importance- NIMHANS, Bangalore in 2010. After a brief stint in Medanta The Medicity Hospital, Gurgaon, she chose to follow her passion of epilepsy and EEG. She completed fellowship in EEG at another eminent institute SCTIMST, Thiruvananthapuramin 2013. To further the expertise, she worked at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Miami, Florida, USA with the epilepsy surgery team and was an active and reliable member of epilepsy monotoring unit from 2015 to 2018. She has a rich experience with invasive monitoring techniques of subdural and stereoEEG.She has established epilepsy labs at various corporate hospitals. Apart from epilepsy, she is active in acute stroke treatment like IV thrombolysis and referral for mechanical thrombectomy in suitable cases and relies on comprehensive stroke care with rehabilitation. Many peer reviewed publications, academic presentations at conferences and tutoring of students from paramedical and medical fraternities make her an all rounder professional.She believes care of patient involves sound knowledge, empathy and patient listening.
